Isla & Remy

We met at a mutual friend's rooftop party in Edinburgh. Remy was arguing about the best way to make a negroni. Isla was right. They've been arguing about it ever since.

A walk along the Water of Leith that was supposed to last an hour and lasted six. They talked until the path ran out and then kept talking anyway.

A small flat in Stockbridge with a kitchen too small for two people and a view of the castle. They made it work. They always make it work.

On a hillside in the Luberon, at sunset, with a ring that had belonged to Remy's grandmother. Isla said yes before the question was finished.
