Each piece begins as raw clay gathered from riverbeds outside Kyoto. Fired in a wood-burning anagama kiln over five days, the ash and flame leave their mark — no two surfaces alike. The work is not mine alone. It belongs to the fire.
Thrown slowly. Trimmed without hurry. Glazed in quiet. The vessel holds not only tea or flower, but the stillness of the morning it was made.
Visit the studio by appointment. The garden path is moss and stone. The kettle is always warm.
